The Job Status report is a type of a Dynamic Report that contains job related information.
Select Project Management button from the Main Menu. Click on Reports and select Job Status.
The Report Templates screen displays all templates that have been created.
Use the Report Category dropdown to filter the listed templates based on the Report Category assigned when the template was created.
To view a Report Template, click on the View Details icon. Select criteria on the Options tab to generate the report.
All Job Status Reports created will be displayed in a grid format, including the Report Category, Description, Dataset Type, Created by/date and Updated by/date. Use the following buttons:
View - Select the View icon to access the report.
Edit Report - Click the Edit Report icon to access the report and modify / save the Job Status Report Template.
Report Category - To change the Report Category for the Job Status report, use the dropdown to select a new Report Category. Click the Save icon to save the change.
Description - Modify the description up to 50 characters. Click the Save icon to save the change.
Save - Click the Save icon to save changes made to the Report Template.
Delete - To delete the Report Template, click the Delete icon. A message verifying that the Report Template should be deleted. Click Yes to delete, or No to cancel.
Click the New button and enter the following information:
Report Description - Add a description that identifies the report, up to 50 characters.
Report Category - Select a Report Category that will allow filtering/sorting custom reports together by categories created. Report Categories are created in Maintenance | General | User Defined Report Categories.
When completed, click the New button. To discard the new Job Status Template, click the Cancel button.
Select the Report Criteria, located in the Options tab, to be used to generate a report.
Show Jobs with No Details - Select this option to include jobs without details added.
Show Invoices - Select this option include columns Invoice Number, Invoice Date and Invoice Amount.
Show Closed Job - Select this option to include jobs that have been closed.
Criteria - Using the dropdown, select the Job Status report criteria. Options are:
Job Create Date
Component Date Opened
Due Date
Start Date
From / To - Select the date range for the Job Status report, by manually entering the dates or use the calendar widget to select the date range.
Automatic Date Range - Select one of the following to automatically input / modify the date range:
YTD - Select to modify the range from the year of the current date.
1 Year - Select to modify the range to one full year.
MTD - Select to modify the range to the current month.
2 Year - Select to modify the range to two full years.
Datasets can display data directly from the working database tables, which provides up-to-the-minute information. Most datasets have a pre-filter to ensure that the reports run as fast as possible, even on very large databases.
To generate data, click the Load Data button on the Toolbar.
If the template has duplicate field Labels, an extension will be added to one of the duplicate field's name. Example: The template has two fields labeled Date. The report will rename one of the fields as Date_2.
A variety of customization is available:
Save - If the report has been customized, to save the changes to the Report Template, click the Save button.
Save As - If the report has been customized, to save the changes to a 'New' Report Template, click the Save As button.
On the Save Report Template, select / enter the following information:
Template - Indicates the template selected. Display Only.
Report Description - Enter a description for the report, up to 50 characters.
Report Category - Select from the dropdown the Report Category to assign to the report template. This is used to filter Report Templates. This is an optional field. Report Categories are created in Advantage | Maintenance | General - User Defined Report Categories application.
Customize Columns
Select Columns - Click the Is Visible column to include in the report.
Select / Deselect All - Use the Select All button to select all columns. Use the Deselect All button to unselect all columns.
Rename Columns - Modify the Header Text to customize the columns as needed
Show Only Visible Columns - Select this option to only view columns that are marked as Is Visible.
When completed, click the OK button. To Reset all columns to be visible, click the Reset button. To discard the changes, click the Cancel button.
Modify Order of Columns - Drag and drop to re-arrange columns into the desired order.
Show View Caption - Select this option to include the type of report generated to view or print.
Show Group By Box - Select this option to group results based on selected columns. Using the drag and drop method, select the columns and drop into the designated area (above the column headers). The grouping is retained on the printed report.
Show Filter Editor - Select this option to filter manually the field criteria of what is to be reported.
Show Auto Filter Row - Select this option to reveal a row where simple data filter can be added.
Column Filter Options - Click on the column heading to sort the results Ascending / Descending / Clear sorting.
Once the report has been generated, click on the Printing tab to print the report. Printing options include:
PDF - Generates report using Adobe PDF.
XLS / To XLS (Value) - Generates report to Microsoft Excel (2007 and below).
XLSX / To XLSX (Value) - Generates report to Microsoft Excel (2010).
RFT - Generates the report using Rich Text Format.
CSV - Generates the report as a Comma Delimited format.
