Software Version shows version numbers and build numbers that can be applied to one or more jobs for the purpose of tracking issues through the Alert Assignment feature.
Select the Maintenance button on the Main Menu. Expand the General button and select Software Version from the menu to open the Software Version application.
Upon entering the Software Version application, all defined Versions will display on the first tab. The second tab defines the Version Details.
To add a new version, enter the following information on the first (empty) row in the grid:
Version - Enter a unique code to identify the version, containing up to 10 characters.
Description - Enter a description of the version, containing up to 100 characters.
Inactive - If a version is no longer in use, it may be marked as Inactive. Inactive versions will be unavailable from selection in Version Detail.
When completed, click the New icon to add the new version. Versions are initially listed in the order they were entered, use the column heading sort feature (ascending / descending / none) by clicking on the column header title.
To discard the entry of a new version, click the Cancel icon.
The version descriptions display in a grid, 10 records at a time. The grid's footer indicates the total number of pages that are available for viewing. Use the change page navigational arrows to view all codes.
Save changes to the screen before using the 'change page' navigation.
All fields can be modified with the exception of the version code. When modifying is completed, click the Save icon located on the individual version row. If multiple changes have been made to version, to save all rows simultaneously click the Save All icon located in the column header.
To delete a version, click the Delete icon located on the individual version code row. A message will display verifying that the version is to be deleted. Click OK to delete the version, otherwise click Cancel to not delete the version.
Versions that are associated with a job, job/component cannot be deleted, they must be marked as inactive.
The Version Detail tab contains the ability to add build numbers and assign jobs / job components to a Version. Versions can be attached at the job level or at the job component level.
The Version Detail has 3 sections:
In the Version section, select a version from the dropdown.
The Build section allows multiple builds to be available for the version. To add a new version, enter the following information on the first (empty) row in the grid:

The Version applies to section allows a level to be selected and assigned to jobs / job components. Jobs and Job Components can be assigned to multiple version.
Select the level for the version:
Job Level - version / builds associated will be available when an alert is sent at the Job level.
Select the jobs / job components to be associated to the version by selecting the applicable checkbox. Un-select the checkbox to detach a job / job component from the version. The selection will be automatically saved.
Click on the x on Software Version Maintenance to exit the maintenance application.
