Use the options below to set the required password rules that will apply when passwords are added or changed. Default settings will be in place until changed in the Update Wizard or in the Password Policy module in either Advantage or Webvantage..
Minimum password length - Enter minimum number of characters for password. Default is 6 characters.
Password complexity required (checkbox) - Select to enable password complexity rules.
Lowercase (checkbox) - Select to require at least one lowercase letter. Default is Y.
Number (checkbox) - Select to require at least one number. Default is Y.
Special Character (checkbox) - Select to require at least one special character (e.g., !, $ or #). Default is N.
Password History - Previous password history count, Default is 0.
Password expiration (age) days - To require passwords to be periodically changed, enter the number of days that will pass before a password will expire. A pop-up warning will be issued on the login screen.
Attempts before lockout - Number of login attempts before lockout. The count will be displayed (e.g., 1/3 attempts, 2/3 attempts, etc.)
Lockout reset (minutes) - Number of minutes before password is reset after lockout.
Two factor authentication (dropdown) - Select 'Email' from the dropdown to enable. When enabled, an Authorization Code is required upon log in.
When a user enters their login information and clicks 'OK' they will receive an email with the Authorization Code, which they will enter on the log in screen and proceed to log in by clicking 'OK'. The Authorization Code is valid for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, the user can use the Resend option in the log in window to receive a new Authorization Code.
