Double click on the icon (on the desktop) to turn on the Advantage Services. The icon will now be in the notification area of the window’s toolbar.
Right click on the icon to select Show Log and Settings or Shut Down.
To view the settings and logs for the Advantage Services, click on Show Log and Settings.
To turn off the Advantage Services, click on Shut Down*.
IMPORTANT: Closing the Advantage Services window does not stop the services from processing. It will just remove it from the notification area of the window’s toolbar. To halt any Advantage Services application and stop processing, click the Stop button within that application. |

System section - The following option is available in the System section of the File tab:
Hide – Click the Hide button to minimize the Advantage Services to the notification area of the window’s toolbar. The application will still be running in the background.
Database Profiles section - Databases must be added in order to use any of the services. Select the Database Profiles option on the ribbon. The Database Profiles popup allows for adding, editing and deleting available databases for the different services. The following options are available in the Database Profiles section of the File tab:
Current - Using the dropdown, select the database to run the Advantage Services for.
Manage - The Manage button allows new databases to be added or modified.
Add - To add a database, click on the Add button and complete the following information on the Add Database Profile popup:
Server - Enter the Database Server name.
Database - Enter the Database name.
User Name / Password - Enter user name and password. Use the Test button to verify valid User Name/Password entered.
CP User Name / Password - Enter CP user name and password. Use the Test button to verify valid Client Portal user name/password entered.
Email Settings - Once the Database is added, click the Refresh button to add the Email Settings based on settings in Advantage | Maintenance | General | Agency |System & Alert Options | Email Settings tab - POP3 Settings section.
When done, click Add.
Edit - To modify an existing Database setup, highlight the Database and click Edit.
Delete - To delete an existing Database, highlight the Database and click Delete.
Close - Click the Close button to close the Database Profiles popup.
Service section - The following options are available in the Service section of the File tab:
Auto Start – Select this option to automatically start the Listener when Advantage Services is opened. This option is only available when the Email Listener has been stopped
Stop / Start – To stop the Email Listener, click the Stop button. The button will now be a Start button. To restart the Email Listener, click the Start button.
Enable / Disable - When the Service is activated, this button states it is Enable (Active). To stop the Service, click the Enable button. It will then display as Disabled (Inactive). To re-activate the Service, click the Disabled button.
Process Now - To immediately process the Service, click this button.
Quick Manage - Use this option to quickly Enable or Disable any Service. When done, click the Save button or use the Cancel button to disregard changes.
Use the Enable All / Disable All button to change all Services to Enabled or Disabled.
Settings section - The following option is available in the Settings section of the File tab:
Save – Click the Save button to save changes made to Advantage Service.
Log section - The following option is available in the Log section of the File tab:
Refresh - Use the Refresh button up display up to date Log activity.
